Hadith 1
Sahih al-Bukhari • The Beginning of Revelation
Sahih
Umar bin Al-Khattab (RA)
Translation
Narrated by `Umar bin Al-Khattab: I heard Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) say, “The deeds are judged by intentions, and every person will get what they intended. So whoever emigrated for Allah and His Messenger, their emigration is for Allah and His Messenger. And whoever emigrated for worldly gain or to marry a woman, their emigration is for what they emigrated for.”

💭 What Would You Do?
Imagine you are in a classroom or workplace, and you see someone giving charity publicly while looking around to see who notices. Your first reaction might be to judge them as showing off. But the hadith teaches that only Allah knows the heart. What would you do? Would you silently make dua for them to correct their intention? Would you gently remind them of this hadith without embarrassing them? Or would you ignore them completely and focus on your own intentions first?
